BSP supremo Mayawati said on Friday that the UP poll verdict 'is a win for the party's ideology'. "People of Uttar Pradesh have expressed their faith in democracy and have risen over caste and religion," she said.

While addressing a press conference immediately after the stunning win of her party, Mayawati said, "It will be after 14 years that a single party government will be formed in the state.

"I will ensure a society free from corruption, fearlessness, crime and provide development," she asserted. Mayawati confessed that upper caste played a vital role in her victory.

While thanking the voters for bringing her in power, she also expressed her gratitude to the Election Commission for ensuring a free and fair election.
