THE MAULANA Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), which is a Central University, will soon start regular courses in B Ed, LLB and Unani system of medicines in Bhopal.
At an interaction programme organised today at the Regional Centre of the University in Koh-e-Fiza to apprise the educationists, social activists and prominent citizens of the courses offered by the university, Regional Director Dr Mohammad Ahsan said the university provides education in Urdu medium at a low fee.
Dr Ahsan said currently the courses available under distance education include MA in Urdu and History, BA, B Com, BSc, BEd, D Ed, and diploma in teaching English apart from various six monthly courses.
He said the admissions for the upcoming session would start in April 2006. The university is offering a unique opportunity to the residents of Bhopal and around. The students of distance learning courses have the option to attend classes at the study centre on Sunday, he said.
The participants suggested measures to take the courses to the Urdu-speaking populace and the sections of society who are not able to pursue higher education due to constraints of job, time et al. Naseem Ansari, Professor Zamiruddin, Iqbal Masood, Haji Haroon, Dr Anjum Bano, Rubab Zaidi, Haji Harun and prominent citizens spoke on the occasion.
The President of India is the visitor of the university. The MANUU has 8 regional centres and 108 study centres in the country. It has a regional centre on Ahmedabad Palace Road in Koh-e-Fiza and is planning to open study centres across the State. The university was established by an act of Parliament in 1998.
