Yadav said Iran, Iraq and Turkey, who had supported us on important issues like Kashmir in the Security Council and had provided oil free of cost and on concessional rates as well, with whom we had 10,000-year-old relationship, were now being dumped for the sake of the US. He said India should not desist from its relationship with countries like Iran and Iraq at the behest of US because it would weaken country’s diplomatic policy.

He also addressed a public meeting after laying the foundation of advocates’ building and chambers. Rs 69 lakh would be spent on the advocates building while Rs 46 lakh would be spent on the construction of chambers.

The CM said the State’s development was next to impossible if the power scenario did not improve quickly. He also said the government had provided jobs to more than 2.5 lakh youths but the problem of unemployment could be dealt effectively through cottage industries only. He said the Centre was not cooperating with UP and did not provide any special package so that development works could be accelerated. Still, the government through its own efforts had increased its resources and paucity of funds would not be allowed to hamper the development.

Yadav said the government had done one thing or other for farmers, students, advocates, traders, teachers, women etc. He said girls belonging to poor families were being provided Rs 20,000 each under the Kanya Vidya Dhan Yojana so that they could pursue higher studies.

Commissioner, Kanpur division Anita Bhatnagar-Jain, DM MP Agarwal, DIG Daljeet Singh, SSP Ashok M Jain, MP Etawah Raghuraj Shakya, legislator Sadar Mahendra Singh Rajput, legislator Lakhna Sukhdevi Verma, a large number of advocates and prominent citizens were present.
