US issues travel advisory after Jama Masjid shooting

The United States has issued a travel advisory to its citizens in the wake of today's firing incident at Jama Masjid here, asking them to be cautious and maintain a low profile.

The United States has issued a travel advisory to its citizens in the wake of today's firing incident at Jama Masjid here, asking them to be cautious and maintain a low profile.

"US citizens are urged to always practice good security, maintain a heightened situational awareness and a low profile.
US citizens are advised to monitor local news reports and consider the level of security while visiting public places,
including religious sites," the advisory issued by the US embassy here said.

The US continues to develop information on potential security threats to its citizens overseas and shares credible
threat information through Consular Information Program documents such as Travel Warnings and Travel Alerts as well as Country Information, it read.

The advisory said the US citizens having any questions or concerns may contact the American Citizens Services Unit of
the Embassy or the Consulates General for further information.
