"A train comes, thousands of commuters get off and the train goes back in two minutes making way for another train and another set of passengers. One cannot find a better organised method than this," he said.
A stunned 16-member delegation of mid to senior level government officials from United States, on a study tour of Indian Railways, were amused to see the "organised" manner in which trains and lakhs of commuters entered the station during the morning peak hours at Churchgate on Friday.
The delegation, led by US Director of Financial Service Industry, National Defence University, David Blair, spent nearly an hour at Churchgate station and interacted with WR’s general manager Anoop Krishna Jhingron. The team later visited Mumbai CST, Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation office and flew on a visit to China.
