CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan has exhorted the students to utilise their knowledge and talent for building a powerful, prosperous India that is well founded on values.
He was addressing a function held to honour meritorious students of Saraswati Shishu Mandir Schools at Ravindra Bhawan here today. It was organised by the Vidya Bharti Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sansthan, Madhya Pradesh.
Minister for Higher Education Tukojirao Pawar, Minister for School Education Dr Narottam Mishra, Minister of State for School Education Paras Jain, Roshanlal Saxena, Govind Sharma and teachers of Saraswati Shishu Mandir Schools were present on the occasion.
Addressing the students, Chouhan said the State Government is committed to imparting value-based education for which required infrastructure is being strengthened.
Education without character is meaningless, he said adding transfer of values is a must to utilise education. Appreciating the efforts of Vidya Bharti for imparting value-based education, he called upon the students to harness their positive energies for building a strong India.
Dr Narottam Mishra said the results of electronic learning material like CDs have been encouraging. Subject teachers are also being recruited in villages, he added.
The Chief Minister felicitated meritorious students for academic achievements in class X and XII exams. Those felicitated included Sandip Gaur (Harda) and Manish Soni of class XI.
As many as 31 students of class X, who secured merit positions, were honoured on the occasion. Govind Sharma threw light on the concept of Saraswati Shishu Mandir while Durgesh Pathak read out the mission statement of Vidya Bharti.
