A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the AU Disciplinary Committee convened by Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajen Harshe on Tuesday.

During the meeting it was also decided that the Allahabad University administration would take steps to improve and tighten the on-campus security and for this the

varsity’s security personnel would be given mobile phones or walky-talkies for the purpose.

This, it is hoped, will ensure immediate response of the security personnel in light of a trouble or a call for help from a student or a teacher.

The vice-chancellor also stressed on the need for improving admission rules of research scholars, as well as the hostellers, so that there’s no unnecessary delay in

their completing the research and vacating the hostels in the stipulated time period itself.

During the meeting, the V-C also inquired about recent science faculty incident from the Dean (Science) Prof Hari Prakash and then took note of the follow-up
action by Proctor Prof HN Mishra in this regard.

The Allahabad University Proctor also put forward a 12-point charter of suggestions for improving security at the varsity during the meeting and decision on which will be taken later by the disciplinary committee.
