On the eve of the assembly elections in Rajasthan, BJP's chief ministerial candidate Vasundhara Raje spent the day in her Jhalarpatan constituency canvassing door-to-door for support and asked incumbent Ashok Gehlot to prepare himself for donning the role of a "responsible" opposition leader after the polls.

"The BJP will come out with flying colours in tomorrow's elections. The people of Rajasthan are wary of the corrupt and incompetent Congress and are keen for a change," Raje said in a statement.

Taking a dig at Gehlot, who went to a saloon for a hair cut after the end of the fortnight long campaigning on Saturday, Raje said, "it would have been better if he had waited for the results and gone for a full tonsure (symbolising defeat) instead".

"Having failed to respect the mandate given by the people of the state five years back, Gehlot should now prepare himself to play the role of a responsible opposition leader after the elections," she said.

Raje also promised to fulfil within the shortest possible time the promises given to the people of Rajasthan.

Raje, who is pitted against Congress MP and Rajesh Pilot's wife Rama Pilot, went on a door-to-door campaign in her constituency.
