Vikas, the prime accused in the Nitish Katara murder case was earlier denied bail by the Supreme Court.

Son of the controversial politician DP Yadav, Vikas and his cousin Vishal are accused of allegedly kidnapping and then murdering Nitish in February, 2002 as they did not like the intimate relations between their sister Bharati and the victim.

Bharati Yadav, the key witness in the case, during her deposition in the court, however, denied any love affair with the victim while the prosecution indicated she has turned hostile.
