After Naroda Patiya, it's time for closure on other pending cases
This refers to the report Naroda massacre: Kodnani gets 28 yrs, Bajrangi life (August 31). With BJP MLA and former minister in the Narendra Modi government Maya Kodnani and Bajr-ang Dal leader Babu Bajrangi being convicted in the Naroda Patiya massacre case that left 97 people dead during the 2002 Gujarat riots, people's confidence in the judiciary has been restored and truth has prevailed. However, there's an urgent need to deliver timely justice in long-pending cases like the 1984 anti-Sikhs riots and the Bhopal gas tragedy.

The UPA must get its act together
This refers to the report CAG has political agenda: Digvijaya (September 1). It is appalling that a leader of Digvijaya Singh's stature has accused Comp-troller and Auditor General Vinod Rai of harbouring political ambitions. Such allegations will not absolve the UPA government of its accountability to the country. There's no point equating Rai with TN Chaturvedi, who had in 1989 brought out a report on the purchase the Bofors gun, because the CAG report is an administrative document and it's for the government to come clean on it.

Third Front may materialise
This refers to the report Mulayam revives Third Front idea (August 31). At a time when the government and the Opposition are indulging in mudslinging over the coal block allocation scam, the emergence of the Third Front suggests that seldom has there been political consistency in our country. It's high time the government and the Oppo-sition behaved in a responsible manner lest the Third Front that they are dubbing as a mirage becomes a reality.
