Patel has recommended that the Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini starrer, Baghban, be viewed widely by the senior citizens of Hajipur district with their children for bridging the generation gap.

The movie is about an old couple that had sacrificed everything to nurture four children, only to be left uncared for in old age. Finally, they emerge as winners.

At a Kavi Sammelan here on Sunday, the elderly people of the town collectively decided to watch the movie to acquaint their children with the pangs of old age.

The senior citizens have requested the owner of a local movie theatre, K.K. Boobna – also a senior citizen, incidentally – to screen the movie. Boobna said Baghban would be screened soon in his theatre and senior citizens could watch it for free with their families.

Not to be left behind, senior Janata Dal (United) district leader Deo Kumar Chaurasia announced that the senior citizens would be served food at his hotel after watching the movie.
