Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi today delivered a pep talk to his fans who have been sulking over denial of tickets to contest elections and inadequate representation in the Praja Rajyam Party. “Fans wanted to see me in the top position. Some of them wanted to grow politically. That is quite natural. But we could not give tickets to them because we had to field experienced politicians to take on rivals of two major parties,” he said addressing a meeting of his fans Hyderabad.
Describing the fans as his most “trusted and beloved persons”, he promised them that he would give adequate representation to them in the distribution of tickets during local body elections.
Chiranjeevi’s assurance came against the backdrop of some leaders of fans’ associations expressing displeasure over alleged raw deal meted out to them in the conduct of Praja Rajyam.
Two prominent fans’ leaders had quit the party and joined Congress after they were denied tickets. Chiranjeevi said he would keep in mind the suggestions made by the fans and ensure justice for all.
Several fans’ leaders participated in the meeting.
