Energetic sex may be extremely satisfying for a huge part of the British public, but as a recent poll shows, it can be also be harmful as a third of the couples end up getting either their wrists twisted or bones broken.
The poll, by adult store chain Ann Summers, was conducted on 2,000 people and found that while 41 per cent of the couples suffered carpet burns, a third ended up pulling their backs.
The poll also found that randy sex also led 12 per cent of the couples to suffer from twisted wrists.
Jacqueline Gold, boss of Ann Summers, said that though it was great that people were getting adventurous during sex, urged them to be more careful.
"It's fantastic that people are adventurous — but they need to be careful," The Sun quoted her, as saying.
It was also found that couples who like to indulge in energetic sex caused 350 million pounds worth of damage per year, and that one in ten had made insurance claims after trashing lamps, vases and beds.
