As per the meteorological department, Tuesday’s daytime temperature was 26.4 degree Celsius (-1) and minimum was 11.4 degree Celsius (+1). The central region is not feeling the cold despite 10 days into December as the north has received less rainfall this year.
Monday’s dip in temperature made it the coolest day this season with maximum temperature being 24.9 degree Celsius and minimum temperature of 11 degree Celsius. The dip was due to a cold wave plunging the maximum temperature into minus two degrees.
The low temperature made the people feel the cold thinking that it had arrived after all, but today it seemed that winter was still a long way away. The warm clothing, which had to be pulled out in a hurry, seems to have again gone into disuse with people hardly feeling any cold. The most effect is, however, being felt by farmers, as less cold will spell doom for Rabi crops, especially potatoes.
