The MBBS student managed to fight her eve teasers and even got them arrested.

Kumar (24), who is pursuing her degree from a medical college in Ghaziabad, had gone to a nearby market with her mother and brother when the incident took place. In a sweets shop, the two men started to misbehave with her.

In her complaint to the police, Kumar said at the shop in Sector 11 market at Pratap vihar area, two men, aged around 27 years, passed lewd comments and started teasing her. She ignored the calls till the time the men came near her and tried to touch her, passing lewd comments.

When the family resisted them, the accused called some of their friends and a scuffle followed. The two men, named Sabir and Ravindra Yadav, started assaulting the woman and her family. When it got violent, the girl used the pepper spray can.

“I always carry this spray with me as this area is not safe for women. But during the assault no one came for our help,” she said.

As soon as she used the spray, both the men started screaming with burning pain. Kumar then rushed to look for some policemen. Both the men were booked under sections 294, 323, 504 and 506 of the IPC at the Vijay Nagar police station.

“Most of the women ignore these kind of assaults. This encourages men to cross their limits and commit crime against women,” she said.
