A 26-year-old woman, who married ten men over a decade only to leave them after allegedly decamping with their cash and valuables, has landed in the police net in Bangalore.
Kausar Begum and her parents were nabbed by a team of Mumbai police after one of her husbands approached the police, saying she had taken all the valuables from his house.
"So far we have been able to verify five cases and further investigations are on," police officials said.
Begum would allegedly target businessmen from the city and after befriending them would get married to them.
However, after spending a brief period with her new husband she would allegedly take all the cash and valuables in the house and leave, police said.
In order to prevent her husbands from targeting her, Begum would threaten them telling them that she would file a case of harassment for dowry if they pursued the matter further.
The police suspect that the family had cheated many persons to the tune of lakhs of rupees and has booked the trio for cheating.
Begum and her parents were produced before a Mumbai local court and were remanded to police custody till April 8.
