A 22-year-old woman was raped, allegedly, by two police personnel in Ratanpur colony in Panki. The policemen went there to inquire into a loot case.

The victim and her family members met senior superintendent of police on Wednesday and reported the matter to him.

Acting tough over the allegations, Senior Superintendent of Police PC Meena asked Superintendent of Police (Rural Areas) Ratan Srivastava to inquire into the matter and take stern action against any accused found guilty in the incident.

Half-a-dozen miscreants looted jewellery worth Rs 3.5 lakh and cash from the house of Udaykant Jha,

a retired Panki power house employee, in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The policemen, who went to the house of the woman to probe the incident, allegedly raped her.

The victim said that the police carried out a raid on her house at D Block in Panki on Tuesday night.

“The cops picked up my husband Veeru and brothers-in-law Sriram and Srikrishna and left the house. Around midnight two plain-clothes policemen returned to my house and raped me,” the victim added.

Narrating the entire incident the woman claimed that she can recognise the face of the police officials who had come to her house earlier in connection with the
probe.
