Sources said Rekha was married to Sultanpur (Raisen) six month back but had alleged been harassed by in-laws and returned to her parents’ house just a fortnight after marriage. She alleged that her husband Lal Singh was forcing her to bring dowry.

Ever since, one of the accused, Kishan, who had arranged the marriage, was asked by Rekha’s in-laws to either send Rekha back or get them divorce.

He was trying to convince Rekha’s parents for a rapprochement but to no avail. A few days back he sent his son, Pinky, who was allegedly manhandled by Rekhas’s family. Subsequently, one Vijay was sent on Thursday but was allegedly beaten up by Rekha’s brother and his friend.

Enraged, Kishan and his sons went to the house late on Thursday night. Both families were having discussion on the roof and the altercation turned nasty. Subsequently, Kishan, Pinky, Durgendra, Jeetu and two others, reportedly caught hold of Rekha.
