Wood trader shot dead in Allahabad

A WOOD trader was reportedly murdered at his shop here in the wee hours of Tuesday. Omkar Nath Jaiswal (70), a resident of Naini Bazaar under Naini police station, who owned a wood store near Malara railway crossing, was reportedly shot dead by some unidentified persons while he was sleeping at his shop.

Omkar Nath Jaiswal (70), a resident of Naini Bazaar under Naini police station, who owned a wood store near Malara railway crossing, was reportedly shot dead by some unidentified persons while he was sleeping at his shop. Police said the assailants intruded the shop which was locked from inside, by jumping over the wall and fired at Omkar Nath, killing him on the spot. The body was sent for post-mortem examination.

Acid burn: Four members of a family sustained serious acid burns here on early Tuesday morning.

According to reports some unidentified persons entered into the house of Rakesh Vishwakarma at Sindhaura village under Saraimamrez police station and threw acid over the sleeping family members and fled. Kamla Devi (30) wife of Rakesh Vishwakarma, Kartikey (6) son of Rakesh Vishwakarma, Mukesh Kumar (19) son of Hari Lal Vishwakarma and Phoolwanti Devi (45) wife of Hari Lal Vishwakarma received serious acid burns and were admitted to the SRN Hospital. According to reports, Rakesh, a carpenter, was not present in the house at the time of incident as he was at his uncle’s place for the past two days. The condition of all the injured was stated to be critical. Police recovered two empty cans from the spot and were investigating.

Woman dies: Rabita Gupta (33), wife of Ajay Kumar Gupta, a resident of Chakghat village under Chakghat police station of Reewa district in MP, died at the SRN Hospital on Tuesday morning. She was admitted there after she reportedly sustained serious burn injuries while cooking food at her home on August 27. He body was sent for post-mortem examination.

Man run over: A man was reportedly cut into pieces near the washing line of platform number 10 of Allahabad railway station here on Tuesday afternoon. According to GRP Allahabad, Atiullah (70), a resident of Mohatsimgtanj under Kotwali police station, was run over by a train while crossing the tracks. According to his son Raees Ahmed, Atiullah was a tailor and followed the same route daily between his house and the shop. The body was sent for post-mortem examination.

In another incident Kailash Kahar (48) son of Banke Lal, a resident of Meerapur under Atarsuiya police station, reportedly died of heart attack at Loknath Square under kotwali police station on Tuesday morning. According to reports, he was a trolley puller and was carrying children to school at the time of incident.

The post-mortem report confirmed his death due to heart attack.
Cash looted: Anil Kumar Gupta, a resident of SP Marg under Civil Lines police station, reportedly lost Rs 50,000 from his motorbike here on Tuesday. Anil in his complaint at the Civil Lines police station, alleged he had drawn Rs 50,000 from his account at the State Bank of India and had kept the cash in the glove box of the motorbike. He said later he found the bag missing.
He immediately went to the police and informed them about the incident.
