Workshop imparts knowledge of trade, marketing

THE FOUR-DAY ‘International Marketing and Export Documentation Workshop’ at the Allahabad University concluded on Sunday.
The workshop, jointly organised by AU Economics Department and Indian Institute of Foreign trade (IIFT), New Delhi, made the participants aware of international trade, marketing, foreign exchange management and documentation.
Experts from IITF Prof MC Harbola, Prof Pinaki Dasgupta, Dr SK Verma, Dr Madan Lal, Dr Adesh Pandey and others addressed the workshop. The workshop was attended by private exporters and 50 students from several management institutes of the city. Dr Verma informed the students about the procedure adopted to attain exim code number from the Directorate of International Trade.
The process of filling up of several forms mandatory for export-import and the export documentation was illustrated by Dr Verma.
Dr Madan Lal also illustrated the export procedure with examples to the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, AU Vice-Chancellor Prof RG Harshe said that the AU economics department would develop relations and co-ordination with IIFT as well as other leading economic institutions of the country.
This would assist the participants to secure employment and guide the small exporters of the area. Many senior teachers and research students of AU were also present on the occasion. AU economics department head Dr PN Mehrotra proposed the vote of thanks.
