The incident took place on Sunday when PYC leader Maroof Khan and his friend Sarwar Khan had gone for hunting in the forest area of Dera Ki Gali in Bafliaz area.

While they were hunting, Khan's gun accidentally went off and the bullet hit his body, killing him on the spot, police said.

Meanwhile, minister of state for consumer affairs and public distribution and power Shabir Ahmad Khan on Monday visited the house of the deceased and condoled his demise.
