A YOUTH was killed while two others sustained critical injuries in a road accident at Bharat Talkies Square on late Sunday night.

According to information, Jitendra of slums near Vidhan Sabha, Hitesh Kumar of Harshvardhan Nagar and Pushpendra alias Dadu were going on a motorcycle (MP 04 N 0930).

When they reached the Bharat Talkies Square at about 12.15 am, a rashly driven Scorpio hit the motorcycle from behind.

All three youths fell on the road while the Scorpio sped away. Hitesh and Pushpendra sustained serious injuries but Jitendra managed to get back to his feet and picked up the motorcycle and began chasing the Scorpio.

However, his tryst with the death appeared final as in a bizarre run of events, a speeding Maruti car again rammed into his motorcycle from behind.

Jitendra lost control of the bike and went on to crash into an ambassador car parked on the roadside. He sustained severe head injuries and began bleeding profusely.

An auto driver informed the police and the Chetak mobile took all the three youths to the hospital.

However, Jitendra was declared brought dead by the doctors while Pushpendra and Hitesh were admitted in critical conditions.

Police have registered a case and are trying to identify both the erring four wheelers and their absconding drivers.
