23:15 hrs IST: That’s it. Thank you for joining us. Until next time, it’s goodbye. Cheers!
Tye (Man of the Match): “The execution of the hat-trick ball was not as good as the last time (laughs). Glad we got the result tonight. My plan to Gayle was to hit a good length and not give anything away. I got it on the right spot. The ball came on nicely, it was a pretty good wicket. It had some pace in it and suited our attack tonight. Nathu Singh has the skill to be at this level. Basil has shown class at this level. Those two have bright futures ahead of them. I love the IPL, the schedule has been hectic, but India is always a special place to play cricket.”
Raina: “We did very well in all departments. AJ, Faulkner, and Jadeja bowled really well. Then Finchy batted brilliantly. The wicket did something with the new ball. AJ took back-to-back wickets. That was the turning point. It was a team effort today. Basil and Nathu were also accurate. Finch was smashing everything, I was just looking at ones and twos. Today’s win gives us a lot of confidence.”
Kohli: “It is never easy to lose games. We need to get better with our performances. You got to come out and play with intent. We tried to do it with the bat. The only way to come out of it is to play positive cricket. We are putting too much pressure on the team. Individuals need to stand up and take responsibility. The ball was coming on decently well. Both the innings under lights the ball behaves the same. Credit to Finch he played a fantastic knock. In a small chase it is important if one guys takes the momentum.”

22:44 hrs IST: Two sixes in a row from Finch. What a knock this has been! Simply amazing!
22:42 hrs IST: Eight runs off Chahal’s second. GL need 46 off 60. Finch 52*, Raina 11*
22:38 hrs IST: FOUR! Too wide from Chahal, Raina reaches for it and helps it past the fielder at short third-man for his first boundary.
22:37 hrs IST: Finch’s fifty off 22 balls is the fastest by a Gujarat Lions player in IPL.
22:35 hrs IST: Two more runs and that’s fifty for Finch. His 12th in IPL. GL need 54 off 66. Seems all too easy now. Strategic time-out.
22:32 hrs IST: SIX! What a shot from Finch! Half-volley onto his pads and he launches it over mid-wicket for a maximum.

21:29 hrs IST: FOUR! Juicy full-toss from Thampi and Aravind hits it through deep extra cover for his first boundary.
21:26 hrs IST: Should be fair to say RCB haven’t played well as a team. Can’t always rely on big players to deliver. Plus, the bowling has been average.
21:23 hrs IST: Five runs off Faulkner’s second. RCB are 116/8 after 17 overs.
21:19 hrs IST: WICKET! Tye gets his third. Mandeep goes for 8(14). Pathetic performance from RCB.

21:09 hrs IST: RCB are 102/6 after 14 overs. Strategic time-out.

21:05 hrs IST: Two sixes from Negi. He has looked in positive frame of mind right from the word go.

20:51 hrs IST: Brilliant over from Soni. Just three runs off it. RCB are 61/5 after 10 overs.
20:49 hrs IST: WICKET! An awful mix-up. Just the thing RCB didn’t need at this stage. AB de Villiers gone for 5(11). Jadeja strikes, this time in the field.
20:46 hrs IST: RCB in desperate need of a big partnership or else, anything around 160 would be an easy chase for Suresh Raina’s men.

19:02 hrs IST: A warm welcome to our live coverage of match 31 of IPL 2017 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Lions.
RCB will have to win all their remaining games to keep their hopes alive of making it to playoffs. With the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad called off without a ball being bowled due to incessant rain, Royal Challengers Bangalore had to settle for just one point. They have only two wins from eight games so far and the maximum they can reach is 17 points.
On the other hand, Gujarat Lions – who are languishing at the bottom with just two wins from seven games – have continued to play at least three overseas batsmen, which in a way isn’t understandable as a depleted bowling lineup has failed to cash-in on crucial moments. It’s a no-brainer that GL need more experience there.
This will the second meeting between both teams this season. The first time - RCB rode on brilliant knocks from skipper Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle to register a 21-run win at Rajkot.
