34 child labourers rescued in Jaipur, 3 arrested

The Bhatta Basti police, in a joint operation with the anti-human trafficking unit of Rajasthan police, rescued 34 children, engaged in bangle-making, from Bhatta Basti area in Jaipur on Wednesday.

The police also arrested three persons for their involvement in engaging child labour.

The children, aged between 10 and 15 years, were rescued from three houses in Bhatta Basti area of Shastri Nagar colony following a tip-off, the police said. All the children hail from Bihar.

The children have been sent to a children home. The arrested persons have been identified as Pappu (37) and Mohammad Mumtaz (20) from Bihar, and Aftab (20) from Madinapura, West Bengal.
