Kota Government Railway Police said Rahul Patwa, 16, a resident of Jaipur, climbed atop a TTM at Sumergan Mmandi railway station on Wednesday late evening for clicking selfie.
“Just when the youngster was clicking the selfie, he touched a high-tension electricity wire. There was a major spark and he got electrocuted”, he said.
The youngster was rushed to the Indergarh railway hospital in Bundi district with 70% burns for treatment, said police. But he was later referred to the Government Maharao Bhim Singh in Kota where his treatment is on .
Head constable Rambabu of GRP Kota said the teen lives in Vidhyadhar Nagar in Jaipur but since he is not in a condition to give statement so it is not clear as to how and why he reached Sumergan Mandi.
He said some youngsters were also present near the railway station where the incident occurred but they ran away after the spark in the electricity line.
