DMK to fly party flags half-mast

DMK flags will fly half-mast tomorrow as a mark of respect to CPI-M veteran and former West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu, who died at a Kolkata hospital on Sunday.

DMK flags will fly half-mast tomorrow as a mark of respect to CPI-M veteran and former West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu, who died at a Kolkata hospital on Sunday.

A release from party headquarters, Anna Arivalayam, said that the party had directed its members to fly the flags half mast tomorrow during the funeral procession of Basu.

While DMK chief M Karunanidhi had condoled the death of the 95-year-old communist veteran saying he was saddened by Basu's demise, his party colleague and DMK MP TR Baalu paid respects at CPI-M headquarters in Kolkata on Sunday.
