"The Samajwadi Party is against 'Operation Green Hunt'. We think the process of development should be started in those areas immediately," said Fisheries Minister Kiranmoy Nanda.

Nanda was appointed the Samajwadi Party general secretary after his West Bengal Socialist Party merged with the Mulayam Singh Yadav-led party. His stand, however, contradicts the viewpoint of the Left Front.
