Get to know... B Praak
Singer B Praak (@BPraak) is celebrating the launch of his devotional music label, reading fans’ comments, and wishing the world had more kind people

Currently I am
Celebrating the launch of Kripa Records, my devotional music label.
On my playlist
Tumhe Kitna Pyaar Karte, by Arijit Singh and Mithoon, from the movie Bawaal; Kya Loge Tum, and Jaani, from my album; Mann Jogiya, by Arijit Singh and Ishita Vishwakarma, from the album Pyaar Hai Toh Hai.
Advice I’d give my 18-year-old self
Be patient and work hard. Success will come at the right time. Believe in yourself, because if you don’t, no one else will.
My favourite subject in school
Music.
I’d swipe right on
Honesty and kindness. Success and talent are great, but at the end of the day, what kind of a person you are matters more.
My secret skill
I can mimic voices pretty well. I’ve surprised a lot of people with it.
High point in life
Winning the National Award for the song Teri Mitti, from the film Kesari. And when I became a father. That feeling was pure joy.
Low point in life
Every time I have lost a loved one. The pain and grief of death never ceases, but music helps me cope.
One thing I would never buy
Fake friendships or fake love. Everything in life should be real—whether it’s emotions, relationships, or the people around you.
Today I’m craving
A homemade Punjabi meal. Nothing in the world beats maa ke haath ka khaana. For me, it’s dal makhani and aloo paratha.
The last thing I ordered online
A new studio microphone. I’m obsessed with getting the perfect sound, so I’m always upgrading my tech.
An app I check before going to bed
Instagram. I love reading fans’ comments and messages. Their love and support are what keeps me going.
A superpower/magic tool I wish I had
The power to heal people, whether it’s emotional pain or physical suffering. The world needs more kindness and more lov
My favourite Sunday memory
Relishing homemade meals, and spending time with my family. Those small, simple moments are the ones that truly matter.
My plans for next Sunday
Studio sessions. Music never stops. But if I get some time off, I just want to chill at home, be with my family, and maybe watch a good movie.
My most starstruck moment
The first time I met AR Rahman. He’s a legend. Just being in his presence was inspiring.
My favourite bad habit
I stay up way too late working on music. Once I get into the flow, I lose track of time. But honestly, some of my best songs have come from those late-night sessions.
If I could travel back or forward in time
I’d go back to my struggling days. Not to change anything, but to relive those moments. Those struggles, those small wins, those sleepless nights, they all made me who I am today.
The best thing about fame
The love from fans. Seeing how my music becomes a part of people’s lives, whether it’s a wedding, a heartbreak, or a celebration, is the most beautiful feeling.
The worst thing about fame
The lack of privacy. Artists are also human and we need our own space, but people forget that. But at the end of the day, I’m grateful for everything.
