Leave it to Sonam Kapoor to make culottes and a kurta look this cool. If you think culottes have never been a style you’ve wanted to wear, Sonam’s desi-with-a-twist outfit will make you rethink them.

Sonam Kapoor is the ultimate girl crush. The Veere Di Wedding actor looks amazing, whether she’s turning heads in larger-than-life dresses at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet or walking around Mumbai in her eccentric Masaba saree with husband Anand Ahuja. And don’t even get us started on Sonam’s amazing wedding outfits or innovative hairstyles — the girl’s got skills!

Unsurprisingly then, the fashion pro chose a très chic ensemble in sober midnight blue and pretty florals, from fashion label Péro by Aneeth Arora, for a special screening of Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor’s Dhadak on Saturday.

Taking a break from her pink pantsuits, Sonam paired the relaxed boho-style culottes and knee-length kurta set with jewellery from Lara Morakhia. Swapping her usually super smooth hair for a curly, tousled look, Sonam looked picture perfect.

In our minds, Sonam’s desi-with-a-twist look is flattering and has a go-anywhere vibe. Here’s why: Sonam’s wide legged cropped pants hit the perfect length, right above the ankle; they look comfortable and breezy (so, unlike skinny pants, won’t cut off any circulation); they also transition easily day to night and work to weekend, making them one of the most functional outfits a girl can own.
