Actor turned politician accuses Lallu of ‘taking money’ for ticket distribution

Television actress turned politician Kajal Nishad has accused Congress MLA Ajay Kumar Lallu of being involved in corruption in distribution of the party ticket to Sant Kabir Nagar candidate Parvez Khan for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

“When I met Priyanka Gandhi in Lucknow recently, she asked me to begin preparations as I could get a ticket from Sant Kabir Nagar. However, I was denied the ticket at the last moment. I came to know from my sources that Kushinagar MLA Ajay Kumar Lallu was responsible for ticket distribution in the area. He took money from Parvez Khan and gave him the ticket. If the money game doesn’t stop in the party, I don’t know where will it take the party,” alleged Nishad, who lost the Gorakhpur rural seat on a Congress ticket in the 2012 assembly election.

When asked to respond, Ajay Kumar Lallu denied the allegations saying that it was bid to malign his image “The allegations are false. The parliamentary board is constituted and the committee takes the decision in Congress.”
