Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Electoral fight only with BJP’s Giriraj Singh,says Kanhaiya Kumar
Senior CPI leaders, including national secretary K Narayana and Bihar secretary Satyanarayan Singh, announced the candidature of Kanhaiya Kumar from Begusarai Lok Sabha seat on Sunday.
Kanhaiya Kumar, the CPI candidate from Begusarai Lok Sabha constituency on Sunday said that the Grand Alliance (GA) candidate was nowhere in picture, as there was a direct fight between him and BJP candidate Giriraj Singh.
“My struggle is to defeat the communal and fascist forces in the country. I am sure people of Begusarai will support me,” he said.
“I have been working in Begusarai for past few months and I am confident that I will win with big margin. I don’t have a fight with Tanveer Hasan of RJD.”
Earlier, senior CPI leaders, including national secretary K Narayana and Bihar secretary Satyanarayan Singh, announced the candidature of Kanhaiya from Begusarai.
Kanhaiya said the state committee at a meeting on Sunday decided that the party would make all out effort to stop division of anti-NDA votes.
Narayana said the CPI would support the CPI (ML) candidate from Ara. “The central committee will hold a meeting in New Delhi on Monday to decide from which other places the CPI will field candidates in Bihar,” he said.
The former JNUSU president, citing examples of incidents across the country, said there was a conspiracy to damage the constitution and secular thread of the country by the BJP-led NDA government. “When the Muzaffarpur shelter home rape incident took place, all anti-NDA forces united to protest it. Now, we want the same forces to unite to defeat the BJP in the country,” he said.
Taking a dig at Giriraj Singh, he said he was ‘visa minister of the country’, as he threatened people to send them to Pakistan. “People of Begusarai will defeat a hardliner like Giriraj,” he said.
