A suit was filed in the district court of Badaun on Saturday against Congress president Rahul Gandhi for addressing JeM chief as Masood Azhar `Ji’.

Advocate Diwakar Verma file the suit in the chief judicial magistrate court stating that Gandhi has shown his anti-India stance by addressing a terrorist with a `Ji’ and sought action against him.

“It has not only angered the people of India but has also hurt their sentiments”, Verma said in the suit.

The court has fixed March 23 to hear the petition.

While addressing a meeting of party workers in New Delhi recently, Gandhi , while attacking BJP, said that “these are the same people who claim to have a 56 inch chest and who, in their previous government, freed him. The current National Security Advisor Ajit Doval took Masood Azar ‘ji’ in an aircraft and handed him over in Kandahar.”

It was Azhar’s outfit, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) that plotted the February 14 Pulwama attack in which 41 CRPF personnel were killed.

A similar case was also filed against Gandhi by a social activist in Muzafarnagar’s district court on Tuesday in which he asserted that Gandhi’s reference to a terrorist as `Ji’ has hurt the sentiments of the people.
