Admitting that Muslims were also responsible to certain extent for their prevailing situation, former deputy chairperson of the Rajya Sabha Nazjma Hepatulla and now a BJP leader, said that those who set up the Sachar Committee ostensibly to know the social, educational and financial status of the minority, today stood exposed. She said that Muslims’ situation was well known to all and there was no need to appoint a commission for the same.
The so-called seculars were now quoting the Sachar Committee report to highlight the pitiable situation of the Muslims as if they were not aware of it, she said adding that such committees and sympathy shown to Muslims by different political parties would not benefit the community in any manner.
In reply to a question, she, however, admitted that Muslims themselves were also responsible for their situation and claimed that a large number of Muslims were now realising that the BJP was not an enemy and as such they voted for the BJP in Rajasthan and in recently concluded Delhi civic poll.
Dubbing Rahul Ganhdi’s controversial statement on creation of Bangladesh as immature, she said that he was a child and had not read history and was not aware that Bangladesh had come into existence after sacrifices of 10 lakh Bengali Muslims.
The BJP was asking for votes in the name of progress and development and Muslims had no reason to be afraid of the saffron brigade, she said expressing the hope that a large number of Muslims would support and vote for the BJP in UP assembly elections also.
