The logo designing competition is open to all the students between Class 6 to 12 in council affiliated schools. The medium could be drawing, painting or competition design, Gerry Arathoon, chief executive and secretary of Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, said in the circular.

There are cash prizes for students. The first prize winner will get Rs 1.50 lalk, second prize Rs 1 lalk and third prize Rs 75,000. There are two consolation prizes of Rs 25,000 each.

The entries will be adjudged by panel of 3 judges appointed by the council. In the selection process the judges will be looking for visual impact, original design and clarity of thought shown by the student. The council will intimate the winners of the competition at a later date.

The circular reads the logo design work must be completed in school and all the submissions from a school must be certified by the head of the school as the original work of the student and must include student’s name, class and school.

The council has issued certain guidelines as well. The special logo must include the original CISCE logo and can include additional words like “Celebrating 60 years” or “Diamond Jubilee”. It is optional to include the years 1958-2018.

The students should keep in mind while designing that it will be used in various sizes from small on a letter head or website, to large for a stage backdrop or poster. While the students may submit their entries in colour, they must remember that in certain circumstances it may need to be printed in black and white as well.

The council has asked school to tell students to do some research on logo design as well as about the council logo and what council stands for before they embark on their design so that it conveys the spirit of the council.
