Chandra Shekhar Azad (CSA) University of Agriculture and Technology will now be made the first eco-tourism centre of the state.
The government has given its green signal to the ambitious programme.
During a meeting on Tuesday, state agriculture minister Surya Pratap Shahi directed the officials of the university to carry out work at the earliest.
With the implementation of the project, the university will have more green trees and even bullock carts.
“About 10,000 trees should be planted to give a look of natural rural environment to the campus. Officials should assess the feasibility of running bullock carts on the campus to attract tourists,” Shahi said.
The minister suggested that roof top terrace gardens should be constructed in every building of the university and sought a proposal for the development of medicinal plant garden in its fertile land in Dilip Nagar.
Those present in the meeting included vice-chancellor of CSA University Sushil Solomon, director, administration, Munish Gangwar, registrar Rajendra Singh, media in-charge Vedratan, Prof DP Singh, Prof HP Singh and Prof Dhoom Singh.
