Three arrested for posing as IT officials, duping people

An SUV, mobile phones and some cash was seized from their possession.

Three persons were arrested for allegedly cheating people of money by posing as income tax officials on Kandhla-Budhana road in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, the police said.

Kandhla station house officer Anuradha Singhal said the accused Nitin Kumar, Suhsil and Bablu were arrested on Monday after complaints were received that people travelling in their vehicles in the area were being duped.

An SUV, mobile phones and some cash was seized from their possession, she added.

The accused are being interrogated, Singhal said.
