Move over sunny beaches and cherry blossoms - this couple’s engagement photoshoot is all about the beauty of snow.

Instead of going for a conventional location with kinder weather, Morgan Daye and Josh Morris, both from Tennesse, USA, decided to brave the cold wind and freezing temperature to have their engagement photoshoot in front of Bald River Falls in Tellico Plains, a place they had visited many times when they were dating.

Photographer Kellie Elmore (of Kellie Elmore Creative), who is also a friend of the couple, made the icy photoshoot possible even in the minus 25 degree cold and the result is stunning to say the least.

“It was my wedding gift to them,” Elmore told People magazine. “But we didn’t expect the waterfall to be frozen. It was majestic.”

“It was super cold, but when we got there we were just amazed how it looked in real life.”

Groom-to-be Josh Morris in an interview to 10 News explained how difficult it was for them to stay calm during the shoot.

“She was in a dress that had an open back, so that mist was just hitting her the whole time. I was just in a tuxedo, so I was freezing,” Morris said.

“I was freaking out a little on the inside, but we kept it cool for the camera,” Daye added.

Since being posted on social media, the photos have gone massively viral, with more than 4 K likes, 2 k shares and 600 comments on Facebook alone.

“I knew there was going to be a lot of reaction just because it is the Falls and it’s Morgan. She always just takes good pictures. I photograph her a lot. But nothing like what has happened. I didn’t expect that at all,” Elmore told 10 News.

“These photos are incredible!!! The scenery is just as beautiful as the couple! God’s handiwork is amazing!!!!,” said one social media user. “The main picture looks like something out of twilight!!! My gosh I just can’t get over the beauty!! This is breathtaking!!!” commented another.

The couple is all set to tie the knot on May 11.
