2 men killed in two road accidents in Mumbai over weekend

In the first incident, a college student died after his bike crashed into a road divider near Hindmata Hotel in Tardeo.

Two men were killed in two separate road accidents in Mumbai during the weekend.

In the first incident, a college student died after his bike crashed into a road divider near Hindmata Hotel in Tardeo. The deceased, Akshay Nikum, was a riding pillion and was declared dead before admission. The police have booked the motorcycle rider, Rahul Darekar, for rash and negligent driving. Senior police inspector Sanjay Surve from Tardeo police station said that the incident took place at around 4am on Sunday. “When they were about to take a U-turn, suddenly a car’s head lights flashed on them because of which the rider lost control.”

In the second case, a truck driver was arrested for allegedly mowing down 29-year- Sagar Tambadkar in Wadala. The incident took place at 10.30pm on Saturday. Tambadkar, an employee with a private firm at Dadar was walking home when he was knocked down by a speeding truck. Locals rushed Tambadkar to KEM Hospital where he was declared dead before admission.

Another set of locals apprehended the truck driver and handed him over to the police.
