According to Khar police, Kohli told his friends, with whom he spent the entire evening drinking, that he was depressed after his ex-girlfriend got engaged to another man.
As Kohli didn’t return home, his father Jaspal approached the police.
After scanning the CCTV footage from the area, the police realised Kohli hailed a taxi from his house and left for the sea link.
The police then traced the taxi driver who told them the man asked him to drop him in the middle of the bridge as he wanted to vomit.
“Kohli’s friends told us that as he was drunk and depressed, they dropped him at his doorstep. But Kohli left home in a few minutes,” said an officer from the Khar police station.
The police have filed an accidental death case and are checking if Kohli committed suicide or fell into the sea when he bent to vomit.
