A hospital official said Ram Suraj Jaiswa jumped over the glass railing from the eighth floor of the hospital.

“Jaiswal was being treated for a heart condition. He underwent surgery on July 14. Five days later, he was shifted from the intensive care unit to the general ward,” said the official.

Jaiswal had his tea and was walking in the corridor, acting on his doctor’s suggestion. He suddenly jumped. “He was shifted to the ICU immediately, but was declared dead,” he added.

Jaiswal is survived by his wife and son.
