Matron of Mumbai children’s home beats up 8-year-old, forces child to lick her own vomit

Mumbai city news: According to the FIR, the matron was upset because the child took too much time in the toilet

The Trombay police filed an FIR against the matron of a children’s home in Mumbai who on Friday allegedly beat up an eight-year-old and forced to lick her own vomit.

According to the FIR filed by the superintendent of the children’s home, other girls from the children’s home told matron Sunita Pawar that the child was taking too much time in the toilet. “Angry, Pawar went to the toilet and thrashed the girl. The child threw up after the assault. Irked, Pawar forced her to lick the vomit,” said a police officer.

When the child went to school the next day, the teacher noticed that the eight-year-old was upset. The child’s friends told the teacher about the incident, who then informed the superintendent.

Pawar has been booked under section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act. “We have recorded statements of other girls who witnessed the incident. We will get Pawar’s version too,” said the officer.

The girl was brought to the children’s home last month. She fled her home in Bandra and was found at Marine Lines. The procedure to reunite her with parents is underway.
