Mumbai suburb gets 1,000 mm rain in June

Thane, a suburb of Mumbai, received 1000mm rain in June this year.

Monsoon arrived in the city in the first week of June, however it took a long breather for almost a fortnight.
The city witnessed heavy showers since June 24.
Santosh Kadam, regional disaster management officer of TMC, said, “On Sunday, July 2, Thane received 56mm of rainfall. There were 14 complaints of tree fall and waterlogging was witnessed at three spots. This year, the rainfall has crossed 1000 mm with the city witnessing total of 1006 mm rainfall since June.”
