The six arrested are Abhijit Ankush Pawar, the youth president, and his party members, Ramesh Bhiku Dodhke, Praful Prabhakar Kamble, Vinod Satish Tode, Rohan Nitin Patil and Sanket Bhimrao Narne. They were all later released on bail by Naupada police station.
On Wednesday around 2pm, 30 to 40 NCP workers gathered near the NCP office, Ganeshwadi, Panchpakhadi and raised slogans against Saamana.
Senior police inspector from Naupada police station said, “After we rushed to the spot, we saw that papers were burnt and that the workers were shouting slogans against a regional newspaper for publishing a cartoon which was against the Maratha agitation. We arrested all the six under relevant sections of Mumbai Police Act and they were later released”.
