6-yr-old girl dies in mishap

A six-year-old girl died after she was hit by a tempo while it was reversing in Dahisar on Thursday. The driver, Pancham Yadav (32), was arrested later, the police said.

A six-year-old girl died after she was hit by a tempo while it was reversing in Dahisar on Thursday. The driver, Pancham Yadav (32), was arrested later, the police said.

The incident took place in Keshav Nagar, Yadav chawl in Dahisar (East) where the victim Shalu Radheshyam Chaurasia resides. Yadav also resides in the same area. The victim was a student of Class 1.

Around 1 pm Yadav was leaving for work in his tempo. To get the vehicle out from where it was parked, he put the tempo on reverse gear without checking behind. As soon as the tempo drove back, Shalu, who was playing behind the vehicle, was hit. Police added that Chaurasia had no external injuries and the doctor said she died due to grievous internal injuries.

Yadav was booked for causing death due to rash and negligent driving.
