“We will confiscate all packets of gutkhas under this brand and all advertisements will be removed,” said Satej Patil, minister of state for home.

Member of legislative council Kapil Patil raised the issue saying the brand was attracting school students.

The question on banning gutkha was raised by BJP leader of the Opposition in the council, Pandurang Phundkar.

Patil told Hindustan Times that a similar sounding whiskey brand had an international patent and could not be challenged.
