ATS submits witness statements against 2

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), on Saturday, submitted the statements of three witnesses against two terror suspects arrested for conspiring bomb important locations at the instance of their handlers in Pakistan.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), on Saturday, submitted the statements of three witnesses against two terror suspects arrested for conspiring bomb important locations at the instance of their handlers in Pakistan.

The statements, recorded before the magistrate, were submitted to the court in a sealed cover, which will be opened in the open court on August 3.

Beherampada resident Abdul Latif (29) and Dahisar resident Riyaz Ali (23) were arrested by the ATS on March 14.

The ATS said that the ONGC headquarters in Bandra, Mangaldas market and Thakkar Mall in Borivli and other two places were their targets.

The matter is likely to come up next on Tuesday.

The ATS have booked the duo under various sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. They have also been booked under section 436 (Mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy house etc) and 120B (Criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
