NGO Mumbai Grahak Panchayat, which had challenged the fare hike and the committee report, said that if implemented, the hike would be the fourth one for autos in the last 19 months and the third hike for taxis in 15 months.

The court asked state authorities to convene a meeting with petitioners before the next hearing on June 12, and suggested the chief minister himself could look into their grievances.
