A middle-aged woman driver was attacked by an allegedly drunk biker at a busy signal in Andheri (East) at around 8pm on November 16. A fortnight later, the police are yet to identify the accused despite being in possession of his vehicle. The motorcycle has a police logo stuck on the number plate.

The incident took place at the Akruti City signal in the MIDC area of Andheri (East), when Rao halted there after the signal turned red. The biker, who nearly hit her car while taking a turn, stopped in front of it and started abusing her.

When she protested, and smelt alcohol in his breath, he began hitting her on the face and shoulders, and smashed the car’s windshield. He walked away without his bike when he saw a crowd gathering. The police say the bike has been registered with fake name and address and have denied the rider could be a cop.
