BMC declares 876 buildings dangerous

The BMC’s latest pre-monsoon building survey revealed that 876 buildings across the city are in a dilapidated condition.

The BMC’s latest pre-monsoon building survey revealed that 876 buildings across the city are in a dilapidated condition.

291 are cessed (fall under MHADA), 429 private and 156 are civic-owned buildings. The civic body has issued evacuation notices to all buildings and it has evacuated 32 BMC buildings.

Twenty-four buildings that fall under MHADA have been declared as ‘most dangerous’ and need to be evacuated immediately. In June beginning, the civic body declared 721 buildings as dangerous. The list has been updated by adding 155 more names.
