On Monday, a division bench of Justice A M Khanwilkar and Justice U D Salvi rapped the police while hearing a habeas corpus (produce a person in court) petition filed by Pradeep Mete whose minor daughter had eloped with a historysheeter, Kishore Angre (28) in April for the third time.

Mete claimed that Angre had kidnapped his daughter after she went first went missing in August 2009. However, they were traced and brought back. Again the girl disappeared on February 15 and her father lodged an FIR against Angre.

In April Angre approached court seeking quashing of the FIR. The couple again eloped on April 19 and got married on August 9, two days after the girl became major.

The girl has returned, however, Angre is still absconding.
